‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ video: Geraldo Rivera’s antics have Kate Gosselin concerned
We’ve spent most of this season of “The Celebrity Apprentice” wondering whether or not Geraldo Rivera is a great contestant, or if he is much more of a case of a slightly improved Gary Busey with extremely deep pockets.
When it comes to raising money, few are better than Geraldo. He’s up there with John Rich and Piers Morgan as one of the best fundraisers in the history of the show. However, what we have also seen is that when it comes to creatives, he’s not exactly stellar. “Neat, sweet” was a dud, his Mr. Peanut dance for Chock Full o’ Nuts was a fail, and we’re not sure that we have seen a single example of him actually doing a great job when it comes to a slogan. He seems to have an understanding of what works, but maybe it worked a couple of decades ago. That’s what separates him from Gary, who seems to know what works on another planet.
The task on Monday night’s new episode is getting the celebrities to devise some sort of tour-by-water of New York City, and given that Geraldo is a Manhattan resident, it made sense for Project Manager Sig Hansen to make him the guide. However, the task is supposed to be fun, and Geraldo has decided instead to turn it into a rallying cry by yelling “screw the terrorists” and talking about other serious, long-winded topics. Kate Gosselin in particular mentions that they are screwed in the video below and while none of her teammates seem to be listening to her much this season, we have to agree with with her.
With that being said, if this team loses, is Trump really going to fire Geraldo? He can always argue that Sig was in charge, and Sig did not properly explain what he wanted. Also, remember here that Trump loves good TV, and Geraldo brings that. Sig, meanwhile, only seems to bring the entertainment to his audience on Discovery, because so far this season he’s really been a dud for us.
