ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4 spoilers: Is Fitz in Olivia’s apartment?
There is quite a bit to look forward to when “Scandal” season 4 returns to ABC on January 29, and also for episodes that are airing beyond that.
For this particular article, we are actually talking more about the February 5 installment, which is carrying with it the certainly-surprising title of “Where’s the Black Lady.” We’re still somewhat confused about the title selection there, but the easy assumption at the moment is that this must be something that a character says at some point. Otherwise, it’s just some outside nod to the notion that Olivia is still missing. We didn’t write this article about the title anyway, so let’s instead get to some of the other good stuff … including some questions about Fitz.
Is the President of the United States in Olivia Pope’s apartment? This is what the attached photo and others that are out there seem to suggest, and that already has some ‘shippers worked up into a frenzy. Can you really blame them? Remember here for a minute just how long this show has tangled the carrot of Fitz and Olivia, and also how badly many people want to see it happen. We do definitely classify ourselves as one of these said people, and mostly because we feel like the show needs to move past a love triangle at some point. We also really like Jake, but we don’t think that Fitz and Olivia moving forward does not rule him out of the show.

The show does a lot of flashbacks. So I wonder if they finally tell us the backstory of what Fitz did when he went to Olivia’s apartment the first time she left. Also, I think they do need to move pass the triangle. It’s time to put Olivia with Fitz and play that story out of a sitting President divorcing his wife. Rumors are he does and they give Jake a new love interest. That’s season 5!

It could be a flashback or Fitz really does go to Olivia’s apartment. The way I see it, Olitz fans have been waiting since Season 1, so of the majority of fans still want them together. Not to mention Kerry and Tony’s chemistry is just as intoxicating as it was in season 1.
But I have to disagree about Jake. He serves no purpose outside the triangle. I actually triple double dog dare you to give me proof that Jake is useful for the show. What Jake is doing is diminishing the beloved Huck role in Olivia’s life and on the show. People tend to forget that Huck was the one who saved Olivia from danger. He was like a watch dog over her. Jake ruined it all because the writers, in order to force him into every story, made Huck look like a idiot and Jake the hero.
The most mind numbing attempt at the writers forcing Jake to be hero is when he, and not OPA investigated Harrison murder. We all know the moment the gladiators including Abby found out Harrison was murdered they would have solved the case. But no, once again Jake was given that. So as a core fan who have watched since “Sweet Baby”, I only wish Jake will leave so the writers can get back to writing for the core characters instead of pandering to the stupid triangle and mindless fans. Olivia Pope would not date a guy that she KNOWS her father hired to sleep. Jake presence automatically dumbs down her character.
My last point is…Cyrus knows Jake killed James. The REAL Cyrus would have killed him by now. But all is forgiven and Cyrus doesn’t forgive anyone. How he hasn’t seek revenge only proves how much the writers placate to the Jake character.

Finally!! Someone else that gets it. The triangle has worn out its welcome and where the show is going serves no purpose, its beyond annoying. And I agree Huck has seriously been diminished, I for the life of me can’t figure out how we go from season three and Olivia saying she loves Fitz to season four Jake is my boyfriend it really makes no sense.

Thanks. I think a lot of people get it, but most of the core fans don’t bother to tweet or follow the show anymore to care. Now all the actors and cast have pandering to them are the mindless fans who enjoy this triangle Team mess. Sort of like the twilight fandom. Its ridiculous.
Remember those Scandal sites that used to follow the show with pictures, gifs, and discussions? Scandal Moments come to mind. Most left because of the foolishness that happened in Season 3.

I agree with all you’ve said. The show went all the way off track when they forced this ridiculous B613 secret spy group story and the even more ridiculous love triangle that does not work. They killed off a perfectly useful character (James) and allow a mediocre one to remain. They have reduced the importance and intelligence of Olivia and OPA all in an effort to make Jake seem relevant. They continue to make Fitz seem like the most inconsiderate and hateful person, just so fans will chose the other guy, but that has also failed. They even tried it at making Mellie seem the Martyr and Fitz the Devil.. that too has failed. There was so much potential but the showrunner has chosen to continue with these ridiculous storyline.
