‘The Simpsons’ spoilers: ‘The Voice’ coach Pharrell Williams to guest-star

At this point in time, it should be no secret to anyone that “The Simpsons” love their guest stars. They’ve become a part of the show’s fabric, though at the same time, we know that there are also a few who find the abundance of them to be annoying.

Well, for those of you who really like guest stars on the show, consider the following to be great news. According to Entertainment Weekly, Pharrell Williams (who you either know for his voice, his songwriting, his role on “The Voice,” or his hat), is going to be playing himself on an episode of the show airing on Sunday, February 8. (The website also shared the attached image.) Specifically, he will offer to write a town song for Springfield after the town realizes that one specifically “written for them” was actually a copy-paste job of one used for other cities. Apparently, this is actually based on a true story.

The reason we’re most interested for this episode is that clearly, Pharrell has a good sense of humor about himself. The fact that the animated version of himself is sporting that giant hat is just one sign of that.

There are already some notable guest stars who will be coming on the show this season, and they include Nick Offerman, Sarah Silverman, Will Forte, and Sammy Hagar. To us, the biggest surprise is how the show kept this a secret for so long. These are typically announced a long time in advance.
