NBC’s ‘Hannibal’ season 3 trailer: First look at Hugh Dancy, Mads Mikkelsen, the future

NBC unveiled on Thursday their first look at the upcoming third season of “Hannibal,” and if you were expecting something creepy, we definitely feel as though this delivers!

If you look below, you can see what is the first real video footage for the new season, which gives you a better sense of the state of things for Will Graham (Hugh Dancy). After the bloodbath in the season 2 finale, he is still doing what he can in order to track down Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen). Eventually, we presume that the search will take him to Europe, where we saw him presumably flying to following the massacre. From here, a series of confrontations can and will occur … but probably not in the way that you would imagine. This show loves to have a flair for the unpredictable.

There has been much said already about the structure of this season, with the second half of it shifting more into the Red Dragon story. There will be a significant time jump, which allows Will to almost reset his life before potentially going down the rabbit hole again.

We feel like the hardest pill to swallow for many is going to be just the wait until summer, which is when the series returns. While we are terribly impatient, at the same time this may be best in order to ensure that it sticks around. There are fewer ratings expectations in the summer, and there will also probably be less in the way of competition. Both are positives.
