‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 spoilers: Details on upcoming February special

It has been clear for some time that HBO is looking to promote “Game of Thrones” in as many different ways possible, and that includes a special that has, at least for now, been entitled simply “A Day in the Life.”

Well, we are finally starting to get a little bit of a better sense as to what will comprise this 30-minute event on February 8. According to Entertainment Weekly, the goal of this special is to give you a true behind-the-scenes look at what a day is like in production of the series. Not only that, but this documentary will span three separate countries: Northern Ireland (which is the primary location for the show, and where many interior sets are located), Croatia (whose city of Dubrovnik is the stand-in for King’s Landing), and also Seville, Spain (which is supposedly going be Dorne on the upcoming fifth season premiering April 12).

This should be a fascinating look at how these people ultimately work their butts off to present to you something that is completely different than anything else on TV. Also, it is a nice way to look ahead at the new season, and we appreciate that given that the new season is not premiering for a little while longer. It’s even later than usual this time around.

As for when some further “Game of Thrones” updates will be unveiled, we’re thinking along the lines of later this month. With the upcoming IMAX screenings, the show is going to want to launch a trailer both there and online.
