‘Scorpion’ season 1, episode 14 review: Is Paige sleeping with Walter?
“Scorpion” is not your typical crime of the week procedural – of course you get a different case each week, but the masterminds behind the show really give you some meaty storylines when it comes to the characters. Will Paige leave with Drew and Ralph for Portland? Will Walter try to stop her? Are we going to see Happy return Toby’s feelings and get into a relationship with him? There are so many delicious stories unfolding on this show that it easily makes it one of our favorite crime shows on TV. (just an fyi to those of you who don’t know: tonight’s episode and tomorrow night’s episodes are flipped and out of order).
If you’ve been wanting to see Paige have a moment with Walter, it finally happened tonight… sort of. She had a dream that she was sleeping with Walter – will this open her up to more with him then just friendship? Paige later decides to talk to Toby and her dream about Walter (leaving out that it’s Walter of course) saying that she doesn’t want the idea of feelings to lead her astray, but Toby won’t help her until she reveals who the dream was about. In the end he gives her the advice to put Ralph before any feelings she has for anyone, but as we all know, love makes us stupid sometimes.
When Toby meets a woman through the case of the week (CIA) who’s a lot like Happy (but nicer to him) she starts to get a little jealous. Toby, notices and of course plays it up a bit and why not… Happy knows how he feels about her and hasn’t said a word about it. Maybe this could help open her up to the idea of a relationship with Toby down the line, but if you were hoping it would shake her up tonight, it really hasn’t done much.
Watching Paige teach Walter how to flirt was easily the highlight of the episode – there is so much chemistry between these two it’s not even funny. If Walter and Paige aren’t end game it would be a travesty, but he clearly has a long way to go before he can get to that point. Episode grade: B
