‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8: Kaley Cuoco opens up about new contract

The Big Bang TheoryWhile this is not an extremely busy period of time for “The Big Bang Theory,” it somehow has been fairly eventful for star Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting. This is probably in part due to her recent sinus surgery, and the subsequent out-of-control rumors that she was doing it to have a nose job. (Obviously, this was not true.)

What we have for you today are probably some of the most candid comments any person from the CBS sitcom has made about the new, massive contracts that were signed in the fall, which make the series leads (Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, and Jim Parsons) three of the highest-paid people on TV. There are only a few ways that you can really talk about the subject of making $1 million an episode without sounding egotistical, but in her new interview with Redbook, Cuoco manages to figure it out:

“All I think about is what it means for my family… and knowing there is security for all of us … My parents spent 16 years hauling my butt to LA for audition after audition. Every day they were helping me learn my lines, dropping me off, waiting for me, picking me up, giving me pep talks when I didn’t get the jobs, taking me to tennis and horseback riding lessons. I remember always hoping I could help take care of them because they took such good care of me. Knowing I’ll be able to just brings tears to my eyes.”

Kaley is certainly going to be bringing in plenty of cash in the years to come; given that the show already is renewed through season 10, she is slated to earn more than $50 million. That number could always increase beyond that if there are new contracts and an additional renewal.
