‘Doctor Who’ season 9: Don’t expect Peter Capaldi to spend much of filming online…

Doctor Who -Next month, filming officially begins on the ninth season of “Doctor Who.” Isn’t that a reason to celebrate? While there may not be a while lot known right now about some of the episodes ahead, we can at least tell you this: Don’t expect Peter Capaldi to suddenly decide to get a Twitter account or anything while we wait. Like many others related to the show, he prefers to be a little more on the enigmatic side.

Speaking to the Radio Times, the actor joked that he is not anywhere near as tech-savvy as the Doctor is, and doesn’t seem to be trying to change this pattern in any way moving forward:

“My family know not to get me any tech stuff for Christmas. I can never get it to work and it all becomes very tearful and pressurised … If you put me in a real Tardis, I dread to think what would happen to the universe.”

Part of the charm surrounding Capaldi as the Doctor is that he comes into this world with so much experience and with much of his identity already set in stone. Therefore, he can have a great time playing a character that he lives at work, but then go home and have no problem just being Peter. That is not always easy for some actors, especially ones who are attached to a role as iconic as this one.

The ninth season of “Doctor Who” will premiere on the BBC this coming fall, and we’re sure that we will hear much from Capaldi before then.
