ABC’s ‘Resurrection’ season 2 spoilers: The shocks and struggle ahead

Resurrection -Resurrection” returns to ABC early next year, and we feel like there are definitely some challenges ahead for the show. If this ends up being the last season, you have basically a small handful of episodes to resolve most of the current threads … and there are plenty of them.

One episode that could have some answers is “True Believer,” which is the second of 2015 airing on Sunday, January 11. Based on the synopsis below, Henry, Margaret, and Bellamy are all going to be at the center of some pretty intense stories:

“The return of Preacher James brings an ominous new energy to the town, especially for Bellamy who seems to have a strange and unnerving connection to him. Now a detainee at the government facility, Margaret keeps to herself but her reputation precedes her and the other returned definitely take notice. Then the unthinkable happens to Henry which shakes everybody’s faith to their core.”

If we were to look at these upcoming episodes in a big-picture way, one of the things that we could really say here is that there are two separate ways that the producers could end the story. They could try to just give the characters their proper endings without worrying too much about the mythology, or they could focus more of their time on answering the larger questions about why these people are back, and some of the technicalities that are at the center of that.

Personally, we are almost more interested in just getting resolution for Henry and Bellamy than learning the truth about the Returned, and mostly for this reason: When is the last time such a big reveal satisfied you? If it is going to be impossible to please the masses on the mythology, we would rather just see the characters meet their right endings.
