Sarah Jessica Parker may return to HBO with new comedy pilot

The latest -If there is one word that we would use to describe Sarah Jessica Parker with HBO, we would be this: Royalty. She is one of the biggest stars to ever come out of the network; while she was familiar before, “Sex and the City” took her to another level. Without Carrie Bradshaw in her life, Parker just is not on that same level.

However, it is looking as though the actress may be returning to the series very soon, but with a little bit of a different role. According to a new report from Deadline, Parker has been tapped for a lead role in “Divorce,” a project that is still in the fairly early stages over at the premium cable network. As the title suggests, the story revolves around an extremely long divorce, and many of the complications that go along with it.

If this show ends up making it to air, this will be the first series-regular role for Parker on TV since “Sex and the City” ended; her only major TV gig was an arc on “Glee” as a fashion mentor to Chris Colfer’s character of Kurt Hummel. The original report suggests that she has been pursued by many networks to be in their shows, but she has been extremely patient, waiting for the right project to come along.

Also, it probably helps that if this series gets the green light, it will be set in New York, which allows Parker to stay in her familiar next of the woods.

Just because this is Parker and this is HBO, we are excited to see what comes out of this project. Then again, it’s probably smart to not start bouncing off the walls here until you learn a little bit more about it.
