Craig Ferguson’s ‘Late Late Show’ finale: Betty White, Jay Leno, and more

Craig Ferguson -While you may need to wait for “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” to air in full for you to see some of what happened, why not go ahead and share a few little slivers of information right now?

Let’s start with the big one: Celebrity guests! Among the attendants tonight were Steve Carell, Jeff Daniels, Quentin Tarantino, and the incomparable Betty White, who has appeared many times on his program already.

Also, there is an appearance from none other Jay Leno as Craig’s final guest. Admittedly, we’ve enjoyed Jay more since he left “The Tonight Show,” mostly because he has returned to being a little less edgier, and seems less afraid to pull punches. Maybe there is a little bit of bitterness there, but it feels like an appropriate final guest, given he knows all about leaving a talk show behind.

It’s hard to really say too much about a final show for Craig here other than that he is definitely going to be missed. Of course, we’ll love the nostalgia of it, but we don’t expect anything less from him. He’s a special guy; obviously, he is hilarious, but he also has quite a skill in humility, and ensuring that the audience feels connected to him. He’s elusive, and yet at the same time approachable and an everyman.

Needless to say, James Corden has some enormous shoes to fill; not just for Craig, but for his Robot Skeleton, his horse, his candy, and so much more. His show is slated to begin on CBS in March, and hopefully, we’ll have more news before its arrival to TV.
