‘Elementary’ season 3 spoilers: How a case has ties to Joan Watson’s past

ElementaryWe are here with what may be good news and bad news for longtime fans of “Elementary,” or at least fans who tend to exclusively like to see Joan and Sherlock working together.

Following its winter hiatus, the CBS series will return on Thursday, January 8 with an episode featuring Lucy Liu’s character teaming up with Sherlock Holmes. However, he will still have Kitty Winter has his main partner, and the dynamic from most of season 3 will remain intact. We’re shocked at the level of commitment the show has given to this dynamic; it is not so much that we despise Kitty, but we are used to the lineup that constituted the core of the series.

Anyway, this particular episode is entitled “The Eternity Injection,” and based on the synopsis below, another important aspect of it is going to revolve around a significant part of Watson’s past emerging in the present:

“When Watson (Lucy Liu) joins forces with Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Kitty (Ophelia Lovibond) to locate a missing nurse she used to work with, the woman’s trail leads them to another person who has recently disappeared.”

While it is unclear as to whether or not this is a woman who Watson was particularly close to, we imagine that it still is very important to point out that it is there.

Given that we are still relatively early in this season (blame Thursday Night Football on CBS for that), we should have some further opportunities soon to see major shifts for these characters. Stay tuned for so much more in that department!
