‘NCIS’ season 12, episode 10 preview: McGee emotions, Ziva flashbacks, more in ‘House Rules’

More news -Tuesday night’s “NCIS” is not going to just be working from the present in order to tell the story of McGee writing down many of Gibbs’ classic rules.

According to TV Guide, this episode is also going to play up flashbacks early and often, and that includes seeing some characters both past and present. For fans of Ziva (Cote de Pablo), you can expect her to at least be shown during the episode, though it is not new footage. Obviously, this won’t satisfy fans hoping for her to turn up again, but the show is at least doing things differently than other programs out there, who choose to almost pretend like their former cast members don’t expect after they move on.

Away from the flashbacks, McGee’s story will be front and center for most of the episode, and despite promos suggesting that he could be going away, we wouldn’t worry about that at all. You can see a sneak peek below from the aforementioned publication that features the opening of this story, and Sean Murray also tells the website the following:

“McGee is kind of reflecting on the past and on the rules that Gibbs has tried to instill in the team over the years, and questioning some of those rules and just thinking back … He’s going to spend the holiday with … his dad, and that’s something that he doesn’t frequently do. They have a strained relationship. He’s sort of estranged from his father, and part of him writing that letter, I think, is him getting out a lot of stuff he can’t necessarily say.”
