‘Dancing with the Stars’ alum Cheryl Burke moving on already to new show

DWTS -It did not take Cheryl Burke a particularly long time at all to find herself a new television home following her exit from “Dancing with the Stars.” Not only that, but this time around, she seems to have landed somewhat that will use a broader spectrum of her talent.

According to People Magazine, Burke has joined an upcoming NBC project that will air at some point in 2015. The words that are being bandied about for this at the moment are “variety show,” but it is seemingly not the one hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, given that the network was not willing to share addition details.

What Burke did tell the publication is that this allows her a chance to show that she can do so much more than dance:

“I never thought I’d be able to walk away … But after a decade of something, it’s time for me to move on and try something different, to be challenged, to feel inspired. Dancing with the Stars will always be a part of my life. Dancing is what I’ve done since I was a little girl. But it was very clear the show only wanted me back as a dancer. They weren’t interested in using me for other things and letting me grow.”

In all honesty, it is easy to understand why “Dancing with the Stars” wanted to have her just as a dancer, since that is the role of that show. If Burke is ready to spread her horizons, this is a chance to do that … potentially. We have to see some more details about this show before we can say definitively if this was the right move.
