Is ‘The Good Wife’ season 6, episode 11 new tonight; is CBS making us wait?
Last week, we saw a big debate spawn over whether or not we should have a new episode of “The Good Wife” airing tonight on CBS. After all, its longtime timeslot companion “Madam Secretary” aired a new installment, so in theory, it made a little bit of sense for them to do something of the variety, as well.
However, just because something makes a little bit of sense does not necessarily mean that we are going to see the network follow through and actually give you something new to watch … at least for that lineup. The truth is that it made even more sense for CBS to shelve the episodes until January, that way there is another 12 installments of “The Good Wife” to go.
Now that we’ve said, that it should be a given to learn that there is no new episode airing tonight, either. “The Good Wife” has been replaced for the time being by “The Mentalist,” which is going to continue airing new episodes throughout holiday season. We’re actually somewhat curious to see how this one will do, given that there is no competition from “The Walking Dead” anymore.
We do want to give you at least a few “Good Wife” teasers while you wait now for the show to return next month, so for today, what we will tell you is this:
1. We expect the fate of Cary Agos to be made very clear the first episode back. While it seemed like he was entering a plea, that is not exactly a guarantee that everything is as it seems.
2. Remember that Archie Panjabi is leaving the show, so we expect to see the beginnings of something soon that could lead to Kalinda’s endgame.

I think Alicia needs a new love interest pretty darn quick. Forget the politics and more anything Diane.

The show has changed for the worse. I am ok with Will gone, because their romance was a bit distracting after a while if they weren’t going to be together. But the first season was marked with realizing Alicia’s pure attorney skill, while she worked to help the Little Guy as much as possible while working within a large law firm as a junior associate.
Now she’s callous and stylized, and she is rarely involved in a good cause.
I don’t need her to run for office. I like the law focus. And what happened to the other law firm? Evicted but no response? Will Canning die?
Yes, in some ways I am glad if I never see David Lee again, but the sparks among her and him and Julius and Diane were at least entertaining.
But mostly I miss her trial skills. Maybe it got old to some, but I liked it.
I like Cary but this storyline is played out and unnecessary. Whatever happens, I want Bishop dead soon.

This Cary story line this season was just terrible and took up the whole season. I wish I cared even a little about what happens to Cary, but whatever it is, get it over with and lets move on…..

Several people have stated that episode six just doesn’t measure up to previous seasons, despite Alicia’s bit for political office. No brainer. It’s because Will is gone. Brilliant show, but the attention/attraction between Alicia and Will was what drove it. It is like when George Clooney left ER. Nothing last forever, but the Will-less episodes leave something to be desired. The weaning seasons are hard to watch, even for a devoted fan.

I don’t have any problem with Will gone.
I have a problem with the show not screening for 6 weeks.
And I’m hoping this tiresome drug storyline will be over soon. Making any show all about drugs or terrorism is a sign of weak writing and very often augurs the demise of a show.

Totally agree with you, Bambi—Will’s exit has definitely proven to have been a shark-jumping event. They’ve tried, but this Alicia running for office storyline is weak at best and…who really believes for a split second that Cary will be put away for fifteen years? Puleeze. There’s almost zero tension in the whole storyline. The most riveting moment was Kalinda threatening Bishop! And that could’ve easily been done under other circumstances.
It’s unfortunate, but I don’t see the show running for too much longer.
