‘Ink Master: Rivals’ exclusive: Aaron Is talks Emily Elegado rivalry, life since the show

Aaron Is was one of the more underrated, underestimated contestants on this season of “Ink Master: Rivals” and for the life of us we couldn’t figure out why. He produced some of our favorite tattoos (we loved the skull and roses that he inked on a canvas’ skull), and he was smart to stay out of most of the drama.

Even with all of this going for him, we lost Aaron this week during the portrait challenge. We were excited to chat with him about his shocking elimination,  what life has been like since being on “Ink Master” and what his rivalry with Emily Elegado is like now.

CarterMatt.com: Were you surprised that you went home over Cris and why?

Aaron Is: Hell yes…..I’m still angry. His tattoo was not precise, it didn’t even look like the same person.

What has life been like since being on Ink Master?

Crazy…I’m really busy it’s been and continues to be a wild ride!

How did you end up as part of the Ink Master cast?

They called me….I said yes.

What was the Ink Master environment like for you?

Stressful. …very, it made the whole competition harder not being in a comfortable environment.

In the interlocking challenge you said you tattooed mistakes to match up with Emily’s tattoo – why did you make that decision?

I wanted our canvas to have a tattoo she liked. … and I didn’t want her arms to look like a battle’ it’s not fair for her, so the competition took a back seat to our canvases happiness.

How is your rivalry with Emily now that the show is over?

Better, I think she’s learned a lot and has been evolving into a better person and artist..let’s how she keeps it up!

If clients want to book you for a tattoo how can they go about doing that?

I have a booking website it’s really easy! AaronIsTattoo.com
