Is ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ episode 8 ‘Blood Bath’ new tonight?

“American Horror Story: Freak Show” has over the past seven episodes or so shown us that it can be brave, it can be shocking, and it can have some flashes of brilliance.

What we’ve learned here this week is that FX doesn’t want to risk viewers not seeing some of these flashes live. One day after they decided to hold off on the penultimate episode of “Sons of Anarchy,” they are doing the same for the eighth episode of this season, entitled “Blood Bath.” The show will resume next week, and air a few more episodes in 2014. The final three installments will pick up early next year, and conclude on Wednesday, January 21.

While the show probably would have had decent ratings tonight regardless, we definitely do not blame them for wanting to wait for at least a little while longer to make them the best. This is one of the most-successful franchises in the history of FX, and the premiere numbers this year were astronomical. This is one of the reasons why there is already a fifth season ordered, and there are even some hints sprinkled in here.

What we would tell you right now about “Blood Bath” is that there is probably a reason to be worried about some of your favorite characters. There are still killers out there, and as long as Dandy and Stanley stick around, danger lurks around every corner.
