‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11 spoilers: Details on a major storyline

Even though we are still a good two months away as of this writing from the winter premiere of “Grey’s Anatomy,” there are already some details starting to surface about some planned storylines. If one in particular comes to fruition, it will certainly be a daring story that the show has not touched on too much over the years.

According to TVLine, the show is strongly considering a storyline revolving around Travis, a man in his thirties who is transitioning to becoming a woman. The character will form a tight bond with one of the members of the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, and presumably will be a part of multiple episodes.

Given that there is a whole lot of transgender representation on TV, we have a feeling that this is a story that will generate some headlines. To us, it’s all about the quality of the character and their performance, just as it is any other character on the show. We also do feel like it is important to represent everyone on the show, since a hospital is a setting where you have characters from every possible walk of life.

The report does caution that this is all in the very early stages, which means that it may not be necessarily set in stone just yet. That is something to keep in mind here over the coming weeks, unless we hear that this character has actually been cast. At that point, maybe things will become a little more official.

What do you think about the idea of this story, and do you have confidence that “Grey’s Anatomy” can pull it off? Let us know some of your thoughts right now with a comment.
