‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2 spoilers: Brett Dalton on Ward’s upcoming story

For fans of Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD,” tonight was probably a rough one. Due to the two-hour “Dancing with the Stars” finale on ABC, there was no new episode this time around.

With that being said, there is plenty of new, really great stuff coming up in the future. We get closer and closer to finding the city, and then realizing how this will impact their lives moving forward. There are many big shockers still to come, and we are at least pretty darn sure of that.

So for Brett Dalton’s Ward, much of what you can expect to see the rest of the way is an opportunity to not focus so much on where he has been; instead, he is going to join all of the other characters in moving forward, even if he has been separate from most of them as of late dealing with the Senator. Who knows? Maybe he will be involved in this city storyline before everything comes to a close here.

Speaking to Zap2It about the future that lies ahead for his character, Dalton had the following message to pass along:

“It’s really about the future for Ward and what happens next, not what has already happened. I think that returning to the well was so that he can bury the past once and for all … I got rid of the beard, got rid of everything else in episode 7, and the next time you see him in episode 8 after burying the past, he’s all dressed in black. I certainly tried to play this — and I hope that people noticed it as well — but he seems like a new man.”
