‘Chicago Fire’ season 3, episode 9 preview: Containing a hot zone

Chicago Fire -While two parts of the Dick Wolf franchise on NBC in “Law & Order: SVU” and “Chicago PD” are not going to be airing new episodes this week, hopefully “Chicago Fire” is going to serve as a way to pick up on the slack a little bit. There is a new installment coming to the network Tuesday, and it is going to be one that tries to cram quite a bit into the hour.

For the sneak peek below, though, we mostly just have a video focusing on the team trying to do a simple thing in contain a hot zone. This is not a particularly easy thing for them to do, but at the same time, most of them are prepared for dealing with chemicals and all of these sorts of issues already.

We suppose that ultimately, one of the biggest challenges of this show is continuing to find new ways to implement danger, while at the same time keeping things interesting and different. You have to remember here that this is a show that has taken on quite a few different crises already, and you don’t want to do anything that looks as though you are repeating yourself. With that being said, it’s hard when so much of your show is about something like putting out fires.

Perhaps what will be more interesting about this episode are some of the emotional fires we see these characters try to put out, as things start to intensify between Severide and Brittany and we also uncover a few more conflicts on the job.
