‘The X Factor’ notes: A return for USA show, Simon Cowell? Only the Young talk exit

The latest -We start this edition of “X Factor” notes with something that we thought we would never thought that we would be writing about anytime soon: Fox considering a revival for the American version after a season.

Granted, question the source here. This is coming from the Mirror in the UK, and we don’t know what their sources really are with American TV. What we do know is that if this happens, Simon Cowell would once again leave the British post to come over and judge the show in America. We don’t know if this would work, but we also don’t feel like the American version worked. We liked some of the artists, but other than Fifth Harmony, we wouldn’t say that anyone has had long-lasting cultural impact. Not only that, but the judges never had chemistry, and Mario Lopez was a terrible, wooden host. We missed Steve “hug me immediately” Jones more than we did him.

The only reason that Fox would do this is pretty simple. They are extremely desperate for ratings after watching most of their fall shows post disappointing ratings. Some bombed so badly the singing competition suddenly looks like a smash hit.

Only the Young say goodbye – Before we do too much else, we almost wanted to make sure that the group had at least a second or two here in order to say a proper goodbye to the show. They did not deserve to leave in this fashion tonight, and we feel like we are going to be missing something without them.

We’ll lose another act tomorrow, and all signs point to it probably being Stevi Ritchie.

We are going to have more on the next elimination show from “The X Factor” tomorrow, so be sure to keep an eye out for that. Also, you can sign up today to get some other TV updates now via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: Fox.)
