‘The Good Wife’ season 6, episode 10 (winter finale) preview: Inside Cary’s trial

Are we near the end of the road for Cary Agos as a main character on “The Good Wife”? If nothing else, Sunday’s episode entitled “The Trial” is going to be an enormous game-changer like no other for this character. He has to figure out if it is even remotely possible that he can get through this with his head intact, or if he is more doomed to fail.

In a nutshell, the sneak peek video below is all about one thing: The gamble, and the impossible choice that Cary has to make on his own behalf. Either he decides that he wants to deal with a plea deal of three years behind bars, or he takes a risk by allowing the case to go before the jury. One possible benefit of this is that he actually gets off with zero jail time, but the disadvantage to this is also extremely steep: He may not be able to get off with even three years if it goes to trial.

This is obviously a game-changing decision, and we wouldn’t put it past “The Good Wife” to continue punishing one of their own characters. We can’t see Cary in prison long-term since it would give him far too little to do moving forward; just remember that there are other ways to punish characters that go beyond just prison. The possibilities, unfortunately for Cary, are pretty endless.

“The Trial” will be the last episode of the series on CBS for at least a little while. There will be more coming up in January, when it will take the place of “The Mentalist,” which is as of right now set to take its place next week.
