‘Shark Tank’ video: Kitchen Safe draws Kevin O’Leary’s ire

Shark Tank -Tonight’s new episode of “Shark Tank” has many products, but we feel like one above all others will likely divide the tank in many different directions in the Kitchen Safe.

The basic premise of this particular product is simple: You have two men pitching what is basically a way to lock up temptation. You put your food, your phone, or anything else you want to get away from in the safe, set the timer, and you’re good to go. There’s no way to open it up, at least without going through something completely over-the-top and out of a sitcom.

Maybe this product is a good idea, but this is almost entirely dependent on the person. If you really have an addictive personality, or you are trying to limit a really bad habit like smoking, we could see this working for something. For most other things, we don’t really get it. Why not just have self-control instead of something in your kitchen that basically reminds you that you can’t control yourself with cookies? It’s just not a very happy product, since we would come to hate it for taking things away from us.

Kevin O’Leary doesn’t exactly mince words with these two guys in the sneak peek below, making it clear that he is not a fan. However, guest shark Nick Woodman (read up about his appearance here) likes their enthusiasm. Admittedly, we thought for a second that one of these guys said that their last night was Gryffindor, and we thought that he would actually be good at Quidditch.

While we’re not the biggest fan of the product or its mainstream appeal, it does seem tailor-made for QVC. It can be explained easily, demonstrated, and sold with a decent prize. If there is a shake these guys need, it’s Lori Greiner.
