ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: Official details on Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic in ‘Last Action Hero’

CastleLast night, “Castle” season 7 managed to put a pin on the wedding celebrations, as Castle and Beckett actually got a chance to go on a little honeymoon courtesy of Ryan and Esposito giving up some vacation days.

Now that they are together, it’s time to get back to some of what we know very well with this show, and is solving murders … especially ones that throw some bizarre and surprising twists at you. The ninth episode of the season, entitled “Last Action Hero,” airs a week from this coming Monday, and this is the much-hyped “action movie hour” that revolves around the death of an industry titan … or at least a fake one created for the show. This could overall make for a very funny, interesting hour that also may take a look at the same time at celebrity culture.

ABC released the official synopsis for this episode this week, so be sure to take a look at that right now below:

“When the star of Castle’s favorite ‘80’s action movie is mysteriously murdered, Castle and Beckett delve into the victim’s secret past and pursue his killer with help from a team of aging action heroes. Krista Allen and Ted McGinley guest star.”

We don’t really expect there to be a whole lot of anything super-serious taking place within this episode, and for a variety of reasons. The biggest one? It is simply an issue of trying to consolidate your shockers when it comes to the main storyline into a few episodes, with the majority of them being ones that air as finale / sweeps installments. Expect the episode after this, the winter finale “Bad Santa,” to be a big one when it comes to figuring out what happened to Nathan Fillion’s character. It’ll at least take you on the road to learning a few more things.
