ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7, episode 7 review: Castle, Beckett’s Old West ‘honeymoon’

Castle and Beckett -There were so many reasons why we loved Monday night’s new episode of “Castle,” but the biggest one is rather simple: “Once Upon a Time in the West” was a whole heap of fun. It did not take itself particularly seriously, and it also brought us every bit of the flavor we were hoping for from this hour.

Let it be known here first and foremost that we’re pretty major fans of the episodes of this show that send Castle and Beckett undercover. The show is more fun in these non-traditional settings, and also with costumes, new characters, and a chances to solve a complicated murder. This episode had all of that, and there was also cheesy hotel rooms, bar fights, and Castle thinking that he was going to have to duel a man to the death before Beckett showed up and stopped it from happening. Convenient, but still very fun.

In the end, Castle and Beckett can also celebrate being able to relax for a while longer; while they worried about a lack of vacation days for Beckett slowing them down, the good news here is that Ryan and Esposito chose to be very giving when it came to their own time off, and allowed the two parties a little bit of vacation time to do what they wanted after all of this is over.

Also, good on the guys and Lanie for eventually getting over not being at the wedding. We understand the anger, but kindness is so much a better look on them. Grade: A.
