For the first “American Idol” notes of the month, we’re looking at some stories that are taking place all over the world — no joke.
David’s new music video – David Archuleta recently recorded a new album of traditional Filipino music entitled “Forevermore,” and now we have the official music video for the title track taken straight from Filipino TV.
The video is just as tender as the song, and it helps to make you realize just how much we are ultimately going to miss Archuleta’s voice during his two-year absence in order to focus on his Mormon mission. It was just last week that David said his last goodbyes — and while there will be some more music coming out during that span of time, he’s not going to be around in order to promote it.
Adam Lambert checks out season 11 – Now, we are going to flashforward to this current season, or at least what one of the most-popular contestants of the past is saying about it.
Adam Lambert typically tunes in to “Idol” around the start of the live shows, and he is doing so again this time around. Who is his favorite? Based on what he is saying on Twitter, it appears to be none other than Jessica Sanchez:
“Catchin up on idol. All of them are great this year. Jessica Sanchez is a STAR. Get the girl a microphone that can handle her big notes.”
Last season, Adam seemed to be mostly in the camp of Haley Reinhart, though there were some other stories regarding James Durbin that were blown incredibly out of proportion (in some ways similar to the over-exaggerated stories involving Durbin and Colton Dixon this year). We have a feeling that Adam may be dead-on this time — the only thing that could stop Jessica are the teenage girls voting for Phillip Phillips.
David Cook’s new single – David Cook is also talking about thsi season, but for an entirely different reason. Speaking in a new interview with Mix 105.1 in Orlando, the season 7 champ said that he would be performing a new song on May 10 during the live results show.
Cook said that he was rooting for Heejun Han on this season, but that he also loves Elise Testone and is rooting for her (at least at the moment) over the other remaining contestants.
One last note for Heejun – Unlike most season 11 contestants, Heejun is having to travel to Canada to do some exit press. Why? “Live! with Kelly” is filming Monday’s show in Banff, Alberta, so he is currently north of the border getting ready.
We’ll have a video after the show airs, and we’re hoping that the producers will give him more time than Jay Leno did to show off his sense of humor.
As always, stay tuned for more “Idol” news!
