‘The Flash’ episode 5 spoilers: First look at Kelly Frye as Plastique

Plastique -Through the first few episodes of “The Flash,” we’ve seen meta-humans who have some cool powers, but at the same time ones that all share a common trait: They are men.

Plastique next week marks the first appearance of a female meta-human, and she could be one of the most interesting ones to date. The attached photo comes to us via TV Guide, and it gives you a small glimpse of actress Kelly Frye in the role. Plastique’s alter ego is Bette Sans Souci, a one-time bomb disposal expert who managed to gain her ability, which turns almost any given object into an explosive, as a result of what happened in the particle accelerator.

Here is what executive producer Andrew Kreisberg had to say for now about this story:

“On the run from the shadow forces in the U.S. government trying to turn her into a human weapon … she finds an ally in fellow meta-human: The Flash.”

This quote to us is mostly interesting in that the idea of Plastique as an ally is in contrast to the character that we know from the comics, who is a pretty notorious villain. The show could be changing this up, or, she is an attempted hero gone bad after she feels like everyone just wants to poke and prod at her to understand her powers better.

Ultimately, she is quite possibly one of the most dangerous characters that Barry Allen has come across on the show so far. While many of the other villains could inflict massive harm, she can kill countless people just by using her powers once.
