‘NCIS’ season 12 spoilers: Familiar guest star heading to ‘NCIS: New Orleans’

Early on during this season, “NCIS: New Orleans” was quick to use many guest-stars from the flagship series in a way to try and facilitate its ratings. Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette, and Mark Harmon (who is also an executive producer on the new show) all turned in small appearances, and we’ve seen the New Orleans-set series now receive a full season on CBS.

So who is the latest “NCIS” favorite coming over? This is not a regular, but someone who at least should feel familiar to longtime fans, especially given that she just appeared during the episode “The San Dominick” just over a week ago. TVLine confirms that Diane Neal is going to surface on the spin-off as Agent Abigail Borin, and executive producer Gary Glasberg said the following in a statement to the website:

“The U.S. Coast Guard has a huge presence in New Orleans so to send CGIS Special Agent Abigail Borin down to help is an added bonus … Diane Neal is a talented, fascinating, multi-layered actress and we’re thrilled to add her to the NOLA mix. Borin is a true member of the NCIS family and she’ll bring all kinds of fun to our New Orleans team.”

If we are being 100% honest here, we have long been surprised to see that Neal or the Coast Guard in general have not received a spin-off opportunity themselves, given that this feels just as much like a natural extension of “NCIS” than just finding a new field office in a different part of the country. We suppose that maybe no one wanted to spend that much time filming on boats, but it would have brought something different to the table.

Anyhow, let us know what you think about Neal’s new gig right now in the comments.
