NBC’s ‘The Voice’ season 7: Coach Gwen Stefani releases ‘Baby Don’t Lie’ video

Gwen Stefano -There is no better platform than “The Voice” to get your music career going, is there? You have instant exposure to millions of viewers weekly, and that is as good of a platform for new music as there is.

With this in mind, it shouldn’t be a shock that Gwen Stefani has taken advantage of the chance to release some of her first solo music since “The Sweet Escape” this week, and you can see specifically her colorful new video for “Baby Don’t Lie” before. This one certainly feels like a bizarre dream that she may have had, but all of her videos definitely do quality for being a little out there.

This is definitely a catchy song, though it does remain to be seen if it ends up surpassing some of the best songs marketed through the show. The champ for a while to us is going to be “Moves Like Jagger.” If you think back to the first season of the show, Maroon 5 actually was in a little bit of a lull after having their huge “Songs About Jane” success. This song managed to bring them back to the forefront, and it also gave Christina Aguilera one of her best pop-radio showcases in some time.

Since then, we’ve seen Shakira, Blake Shelton, and others use the show to better market some of their music, and every time it is smart so long as NBC continues to allow them to have this platform at their disposal.

When it comes to Gwen’s new video, what do you think about its overall quality, and about timing this right in the middle of this “Voice” season?
