‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 7, episode 7 review: Did Juice die, and who else is in danger?

Juice -We’ve always thought that “Greensleeves” was a little too creepy to be a Christmas carol, and we’re pretty sure that after tonight’s “Sons of Anarchy” episode, many out there will be feeling the same exact way.

What did Bobby do to deserve that? Nothing really, other than being a pawn of a very elaborate plan first orchestrated by Gemma. Almost everything this season can be laid at her feet, since her desperation to hide the truth about Tara’s death has led to the SAMCRO meeting one adversary after another.

Sooner or later, you knew that August Marks was going to strike. It was mostly just spinning a roulette wheel and seeing where it landed. Bobby may not be with us beyond this episode, and if he’s truly gone, will this be the most devastating “Sons of Anarchy” death since Opie? While Clay was more impactful, we’d argue that we had visioned him dying so many times, it wasn’t a shock when he finally did go in the middle of last season.

Gemma is now off somewhere, convinced that Juice has given up the truth … and this may be the rare confession in the end that comes via the result of a suspected confession that didn’t actually happen. We’re glad at least that these meltdowns are finally happening.

Of course, Gemma believes that Juice may have spilled the beans, when instead he’s trying to buy his loyalty one more time by going into prison to kill Lin, which we imagine is not going to end well for him. Then again, we thought he would die at the start of tonight’s episode. Does Juice have some sort of secret body armor or something, or mind control to keep people from pulling the trigger? He really should have been gone years ago.

Another person lucky to somehow survive here is Nero, since we’ve felt that him going would be the first real test for Gemma to know the weight of some of her actions in keeping this secret. While she knows Bobby well, the relationship there is not quite the same, even if he does die.

Still, all the credit goes to the actors and the team for crafting another fantastic episode; while we still are confused how Juice is still alive, him still breathing was almost the perfect misdirect to the possible death we never saw coming. Grade: A-.
