‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2, episode 5 review: How was Adrianne Palicki as Bobbi Morse?

Agents of SHIELD -There are times on “Agents of SHIELD” where we drum up super-high expectations for only one character, and that is a pretty risky thing to do. Sometimes, doing this can lead to you getting disappointed … and then other times you’re talking about Adrianne Palicki as Bobbi Morse.

We really wanted to see something fantastic from this character, given that we know she’ll be most-likely turning up at some point as Mockingbird. That’s an exciting prospect, but for now, we have to be excited with what we have. Luckily, what we had in this episode was pretty great.

Palicki was awesome in the amount of time that she had on the show tonight, which included her having to play the part of double-agent even better than Agent Simmons. It was thanks to her that Simmons was actually able to eventually escape the wrath of Hydra, which took a decent amount of time to make happen.

Did anyone else swoon at the Fitz / Simmons reunion scene? It was one of many sweet moments during the episode, which we admit made us smile the vast majority of time that we saw the hour.

Oh, and there was a big reveal near the end of the hour, as well. Remember that little device known as the Obelisk? It’s actually known as the Diviner, and this causes some massive problems for SHIELD, since it means that the Director could be targeted even more than he has already.

We very much dug this episode, at least in that it set the stage for some other great stuff moving forward. Also, Palicki was great. We just hope that the series finds another great way to use her again moving forward, just like we hope that Fitz can finally get out of his funk now. Grade: B.
