‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 5 video: Lucy Hale, cast talk ‘A’ messages

Tomorrow night, there is a “new” episode of “Pretty Little Liars” airing on ABC Family, at least if you consider the cast members interviewing one another to be considered new material.

Why no Halloween Special? Thanks to the show having one at Christmas this year, the most we are going to have for October is seeing some of the main characters sitting down and discussing some big moments / answering fan questions. The sneak peek below specifically features Lucy Hale asking her fellow Liars (Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Shay Mitchell, and Sasha Pieterse) what has been the creepiest message from “A” the ladies have received to date.

Does anyone else find this structure to be a little bit awkward? We almost wish that the show had adopted something a little similar to “Talking Dead” here, where you had a host coming in to read some of the questions and directly engage the audience. Then again, this special is pre-taped rather than live, and it saves money just having the cast members read the questions off of sheets of paper.

While you may not see them in this sneak peek, this special is going to feature a variety of the men and women who have appeared on the show over time, including the actors behind characters who are no longer with us. While this may not be appointment viewing for some given that there are no enormous spoilers in here (save for a possible preview for the Christmas Special), it is probably still good DVR material if you want to have something to watch on a boring afternoon at some point over the next month and a half.
