‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 6, episode 4 review: Are Kensi and Deeks ready for parenthood?

NCIS Los AngelesLast week on “NCIS; Los Angeles” we saw  Kensi and Deeks share a moment when she was forced into reliving some of her memories of Afghanistan and Deeks comforted her with his words and a strong hug. Deeks also brought up the idea of Kensi and him getting a place together, but as roommates and not lovers, so that they could save some money, but Kensi turned the offer down. We don’t want to see these two living together unless they are taking their relationship to another level! Are we going to see more movement on that tonight?

Deeks talking to Kensi about baby names is adorably cute, but not as cute as watching them both fumble when they try to explain why they are coming into work together or why Kensi knows (or doesn’t know) if Deeks wears underwear. This exchange is making us feel that maybe there is something more going on off screen and the show just hasn’t shown it to us yet (we can dream, can’t we?). The baby name talk is definitely moving these two in a good direction.

Now that the team knows that Mattias is trying to kill Hetty, she is staying in Washington as Leon suggested, but they are using this opportunity to try to talk Hetty into staying there and working behind a desk. She refuses and goes back into the hearing with the council. When they tell her that the agents on her team are not her family (and Owen sends her a text about Mattias) she decides that she has had enough and heads back to Los Angeles.

Callen wants to catch Mattias and is willing to do whatever it takes, including putting up over 200,000 of his own dollars as a reward for his capture. Callen and Sam are doing their best to flush him out in the community, and it’s working, but not the way they think as he’s just killing more people. Callen is getting a little out of control with the hunt for Mattias since Hetty is the closest thing that he has to a mother.

Hetty shows back up at NCIS headquarters and Mattias is waiting there for her to bring her back to Russia. Even though Nell has been having trouble with killing a man, she is there to help Hetty out of the situation (and Hetty is helping her move past her own troubles). The team comes to the rescue, Mattias is apprehended and Hetty is back!

The Kensi/Deeks tease is out of control this season with the living together talk and chat about baby names. This feels like the season where they should really get together, at least more out in the open for us the viewers. Also watching Sam get nervous while being hit on by a woman was magic. Episode grade: B
