‘The Blacklist’ season 2 spoilers: Ressler’s problems and so much more

“The Blacklist” season 2 has mostly been a lot of slow building, especially when it comes to establishing some of our characters, where they are, and where they could go moving forward.

For the episode a week from Monday entitled “The Mombasa Cartel,” one of the big conflicts is going to be seeing if Agent Ressler gets himself into a situation that could be life-threatening if it goes on too long. Let’s start by sharing the official synopsis before we get into any further analysis of what we are talking about here:

“When a mutilated corpse washes ashore, Agent Liz Keen (Megan Boone) consults Red (James Spader) over what he knows about the deadly underworld of wildlife poachers. Meanwhile Agent Donald Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) develops a dangerous habit.”

If you are wondering about just what is being talked about here, what we would say is to remember the pills from earlier this season. Personally, we’re not a fan of this storyline, since you’re going down a road that has been traveled down on so many other shows. Heck, this was addressed on “Homeland,” which Klattenhoff was a major part of before even coming over here! Therefore, he’s been through this a lot already, and we don’t know what can be brought to the table here that is altogether new.

With that being said, we are a little more interested in seeing Liz take down some poachers, mostly because that is a little different than anything we’ve seen lately.
