‘NCIS’ season 12 spoilers: First look at Marisol Nichols as person from Tony’s past
We’ve teased for a little while now that Marisol Nichols is going to be guest-starring on an upcoming episode of “NCIS” season 12, and in addition to that, her character is going to have some sort of tie to Agent Tony DiNozzo’s past in Philadelphia. Is it romantic? That’s something that has never been confirmed.
However, Nicols’ Zoe Keates is now an ATF Special Agents, and her path will cross with Tony’s on an upcoming episode of the show entitled “Parental Guidance Suggested” (read a little bit more about that particular story here).
Now, we’ve also got a first-look photo of Zoe in action. This image was first shared by TVLine, and it shows her and Michael Weatherly’s character exchanging in some sort of friendly banter.
For those who are curious, there doesn’t seem to be any indication at the moment that this will be anything other than a one-episode appearance for Nichols, though that could either be a secret from us or be changed. What we’ve heard previously from the powers-that-be is that the plan is to give Tony a variety of possible romances this season without necessarily tying him down.
We know that there are many who still want to see him with Ziva, but there’s still no word on if or when Cote de Pablo will return to the show. Right now, the actress is busy overseas filming the miniseries “The Dovekeepers.” She could be available later this season, but that’s up to what the parties involved want for the story.

It’s amazing how things have changed. Back in season 10, NCIS created a lot of buzz on the forums. The show reached the pinnacle of success. The show kept me glued to my TV screen. When it was over, I wanted to see the episode again.
Now, very little buzz. Viewership and ratings are slipping. I don’t need to wait for the commercials to get a snack or empty the dryer. Little desire to viewt the episode again.
Season 11 was the first season that I had no desire to own on DVD. TPTB are claiming that the missing 2 to 3 million viewers are still watching but now on DVR. They won’t own up to tired plots or mediocre writing. Their die hard fans refuse to give up. They are hoping for a miracle. Even the diehards are slowly drifting away. Can this be fixed? I think it can. The things TPTB could do is get Cote de Pablo back even for a few episodes. She could inject a lot of excitement into even a mediocre episode. Another thing is “fix the writing.” I’ve suspected that TPTB inject their ideas into the writing–perhaps micromanaging it. An example of that is the totally non-organic way they treated the exit of Ziva. The failure to mention Ziva, an 8 year member of the family, was a poor decision. It left a pervasive feeling that her team mates did not care for her. All of the poignant moments between Ziva and her team mates were now hypocrisy. Her team mates are now less likeable. I’m sure that there were bad feelings toward Cote de Pablo but to transfer them onto her team mates was sheer stupidity. I wonder how bad it has to get before TPTB would fix the problems and let this show become great again. Right now, they are holding it back.

I wasn’t too impressed with the interaction Tony had last week with the FBI agent so I don’t know how this “potential” character will be. I’m wondering if the writer’s are using these brief things as a lead up to Ziva coming back. Of course there isn’t any indication/confirmation yet on Cote returning (other than the bit of a tease from Michael in an earlier post) since she is busy filming “The Dovekeepers” right now. If Cote isn’t planning to return (hopefully we’ll know for sure sometime this season) then they should come up with a really neat girl similar to Jeanne – a professional, no-nonsense type but someone who will see past the goofball Tony and see him for the man he can be. That being said however, the romance parts of the characters lives should be small parts of an episode not the main storyline. I too, liked the moments where Tony showed his serious side and was there for Jeanne and Ziva when it counted.

So they didn’t “want a soap opera” but now they are desperately trying to find a “romance” for Tony. Easy answer. Bring back Ziva. Problem solved. Until you do that NCIS will continue to slide in viewers and ratings. Now apparently Glasberg and Harmon have figured it out.
Their creation “NCIS NO” — at least through the first few episodes — is thoroughly forgettable. I watched the entire hour last week in such a stupor that I can’t even begin to tell you what the show was about.
And it surely isn’t the actors’ fault. They are all top-notch. They are just getting the same sloppy writing and story plotting that NCIS is now getting.

I decided not to watch NCIS NO last week. I too was not impressed with the first two enough to give it a third chance. I agree the writing has just gotten bad all around. NCIS NO is trying to force the City of New Orleans as a character. I live in Houston and am very familiar with Louisiana and New Orleans and their accents and their ways. It’s not authentic to me how they are portraying characters. I had no idea Harmon’s ego matched Glasbergs. Somebody needs to be the bad guy to these guys and say their input of late is ruining NCIS. The Bishop character is abysmal. I turn the channel when she comes on and sometimes forget to go back. Letting Ziva go was a huge mistake. I think their egos are responsible for that blunder too. The writers must have wrote for Scooby Doo cartoons – it’s awful! Scooby Doo was better than this mish mash!

WoW – Here is my point NCIS or Mark Harmon for his own reasons did not want to put TIVA together because they said it was too soap Opera and yet one after the other after the other are marching by Tony giving him the come hither look. And that is not Soap Opera ? And they are not Ziva. They are NEVER going to have that fabulous chemistry again. Please – give it a rest.

I liked the more mature Tony. I know his character is for laughs a lot of the time but at some point he needs to grow up. He has had a few grown up moments with Jeanne Benoit and Ziva and they were soooo great. Sleazy Tony is not a fun character when he has shown he can be so much more; funny and mature.

I’d just like to see Tony featured in a danger filled arc instead of romances that tptb have no intention of developing. They’re just teasing Tony “possible” romance stories because they create buzz. They have no intention of giving Tony any relationship or danger filled episodes in which he is cast as the hero. That would be way more attention and importance than they’re allowed to give Tony. The big stories ALL have to go to Gibbs now. Heaven forbid they take the spotlight off of super hero, practically walks on water Gibbs for even a second. They need Tony to be an ass so that Gibbs can look even more awesome by comparison. The show is all about Gibbs now. No more team. Just super Gibbs and how he will act, impart wisdom, is so admired, handles all danger, outsmarts everyone, saves everyone, nobly sacrificing himself, and of course, saving the day. What can the rest of the team do but bask in the glow and look on in awe?

I want to see Tony act like an agent, not like a moron. If that happens I’m happy. Didn’t care for his interaction with FBI Leia. Looks like they are giving us a parade of exotic brunettes who fight with Tony.
