‘Elementary’ season 3 spoilers: Lucy Liu on ‘fracture’ between Holmes, Watson

The latest -If you enjoy “Elementary,” then we certainly understand this fall being a little more difficult for you than it is for others. After all, you’re being forced to wait an awfully long time for new episodes thanks to CBS’ decision to air Thursday Night Football. Just as a reference point, you’ll probably be stuck doing this yet again next year, given that we don’t see the network suddenly shying away from putting the NFL on TV.

When the show does return on October 30, there is one particular plotline to be on the watch for: The difficult state of Sherlock Holmes’ relationship with Joan Watson. It is not too difficult to figure out why there may be a little bit of trouble, given the way the two parties left off, and Sherlock heading back to London. They’re not going to be in a good place when the story and Sherlock return to New York.

Speaking per Mashable, star Lucy Liu appropriately says the following as you start to wonder what some of the early themes for the season are going to be:

“I think the tension that is built in the first episode is an interesting way to layer what’s going to happen in Season 3 … [Joan and Sherlock] are fractured, and I’m not sure it’s about repairing it but it’s about change. And change is hard for everyone.”

Sooner or later, we do feel like Joan and Sherlock will become allies again, but before that happens, Holmes may actually learn to accept further responsibility. This is not something that will be resolved at all in the blink of an eye, and you better prepare for it to take time and many more disagreements.
