‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6 spoilers: The past of Ian Somerhalder’s Damon helps the future

Damon -Where do you think the story is heading next with Damon and Bonnie on “The Vampire Diaries“? The season 6 premiere made it very clear that they were in a position separate from the rest of the world, but not entirely miserable, either. Apparently, they have pancakes in this world, and also a functioning kitchen.

With all this being said, of course these two characters want to get back to their old lives eventually, and this will be a focus of the upcoming episode (airing on October 23) entitled “Black Hole Sun.” According to an official synopsis via The CW, we are going to see Ian Somerhalder’s character look back to his past in an effort to move forward, while at the same time Bonnie has to provide some sort of support.

Meanwhile, you’re also going to find out a little more when it comes to Tripp, who does not seem like a particularly good person in the slightest:

“When Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) realize that uncovering a time in Damon’s past may provide clues to finding their way home, Damon is forced to relive one of the worst days of his life. After an awkward run-in with Jo (guest star Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) at the hospital, Alaric (Matt Davis) steps in to help Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) get his life together and cope with the loss of Bonnie. Elsewhere, Stefan (Paul Wesley) attempts to show Elena (Nina Dobrev) what it’s like to start over and create a new identity, while an unsuspecting Matt (Zach Roerig) finds himself in a disturbing situation when Tripp (guest star Colin Ferguson) lets him in on a dark secret. Lastly, Stefan, who is desperate to regain some normalcy in his life, is stunned when an unexpected visitor shows up.”

The Stefan story from the premiere is something that is going to be lasting for quite a while, so don’t expect what we had in the premiere to be anywhere near the end of it. We’re also going to see that love interest again fairly soon.
