‘Chicago PD’ season 2, episode 2 review: Lindsay’s family; Voight’s dishonesty

Tonight’s new episode of “Chicago PD” had its fair share of drama, and it came from a variety of different sources.

We suppose that for many, though, the darkest and most dangerous story revolves around the character of Halstead, and what happened when it became very clear that there was a target on his head. He thought staying with Lindsay would be enough, but little did he realize that they would be so willing as to even target him at some of his local hangouts, as well. The accidental fire here is enough to send reverberations into his head, and to probably be more aware in the future about where he goes, and what it really means to be a marked man.

Lindsay was understanding at first when she heard about Halstead’s situation, but she also had so much on her plate in general throughout the episode. For one, her mother was back around, and the revelation that she was getting married was something that she was none too pleased about. Possibly, this came from a place of frustration, knowing that she would just have to go back and eventually pick her back up when she was down. This, coupled with the news of Voight’s involvement with Internal Affairs, made this a difficult pill for her to swallow.

There is also something to be said for the full “Chicago Fire / PD” franchise as a whole here, and seeing how she is also balancing the difficult relationship that she has right now with Kelly Severide. His issues in the wake of Shay’s death are weighing on her just as much as they are almost anyone else on the periphery of the situation. Episode Grade: B.
