‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ spoilers: See the opening title sequence

Freak Show -The “American Horror Story” franchise has become known for a variety of different things over the years, but one of the most notable ones has to be their bizarre, sometimes-chilling opening title sequences.

With that in mind, do we feel like this new opening title sequence really delivers? The answer to that is “maybe.” It at least accomplishes the goal of being creepy, but there isn’t a whole lot in here that reminds us of a freak show over a circus, and we don’t feel like the two are completely interchangeable. At least the majority of the cast members did make it into the theme song this year, including newcomers Michael Chiklis and Finn Wittrock, who may be poised to become one of the breakout stars from this show after playing a role in co-creator Ryan Murphy’s HBO movie “The Normal Heart.”

Even if this is not necessarily the most frightening opening sequence that the show have ever delivered (we’d give that award instead to “Asylum”), it does still do a good job of making us more excited for the October 8 premiere than we were previously. It’s only a week away! Seriously, we don’t quite know how we could be more psyched for this than we are currently, given everything that this show brings to the table in between performances, great characters, and a cool setting. Hopefully, their main clown killer Twisty will be a character worth actually being afraid of. We didn’t really have that at all during “Coven.”
