‘Chicago Fire’ season 3, episode 3 preview: Conflict and more in ‘Just Drive the Truck’

Tonight, “Chicago Fire” brought us the beginnings of some tension between Firehouse 51 and the Austin Firehouse courtesy of Shay, who was looking for some sort of respite and found none. Did you really think that the series was going to leave that alone moving forward?

This brings us to “Just Drive the Truck,” which is the third episode of the season airing next year. There will be a great deal of conflict in here as the two both try to take on a difficult situation.

As you would expect, though, there are plenty of other stories that you can expect in here, including Mills dealing with some issues from long ago. Take a look at the episode’s synopsis below:

“Fingers get pointed and tempers flare between members of Firehouse 51 and the Austin firehouse when fire trucks collide en route to a perilous call. Meanwhile, Boden (Eamonn Walker) has a plan to get Dawson (Monica Raymund) her badge, but it comes at a cost. Elsewhere, Mills (Charlie Barnett) confronts his past and his future on the same day and the Molly’s crew hits some hurdles starting up their new food truck.”

There are many episodes ahead, so we know that there is not going to be any need for the story to rush things along. Hopefully, they continue to show us more of Severide’s pain as he in particular struggles. We don’t think that he and Lindsay are completely done just yet, but this will take some time for them all to sort all of this out. Let’s just hope that he does not turn into so much of a mess that he loses it.
