‘Supernatural’ season 10 premiere spoilers: The terrifying side of Jared Padalecki’s Sam

For its October 7 premiere, “Supernatural” is already showing that they have no problem at all making things complicated. While the major cliffhanger of the season may be the arrival of Demon Dean, it could end up being Sam who is just as terrifying.

In a new sneak peek (which you can see over at TVLine), you can see Jared Padalecki’s character basically act as terrifying as humanly possible while he interrogates a demon girl. The twist here is that while you would think she was talking about Dean when discussing how his soul is gone, she’s actually talking about Sam. Meanwhile, he acts violently, and demands that she tells him where either Dean or Crowley is right now. It’s not one of Sam’s more-sympathetic looks.

Is this only the tip of the iceberg for Sam? It certainly sounds like it. We are only going to see the character become more extreme throughout this process. He knows what he wants desperately, and is going to do everything he can to ensure that Dean comes back. What may be the hardest on him, though, is when he learns that his brother may not be that interested in acting like his typical self right now. He’s too busy singing karaoke, partying with Crowley, and possibly hanging out with “dancers.” This premiere is going to be at times fun, but at other times scary.

Do we feel like Sam will eventually be able to find his brother? Sure. The question is just at what cost it will come.
