‘The Good Wife’ season 6, episode 2 preview: Meet Florrick, Argos, and Lockhart

After just one real season in existence, it feels already that a name change is coming to Florrick / Argos on “The Good Wife,” and it is all thanks to the decision by Diane to change things up and leave behind the very firm that already bears her name.

In the promo below for Sunday’s episode, you see her start to make her significant transition from one firm to the other, and she will even do her part to try to convince others to join her. How else do you explain the conversation that she is having right now with Taye Diggs’ character? She realizes that he is another valuable person to have around, and would be foolish to not ask if he wanted to come on board.

This move seems significant for Diane in the wake of what happened to Will, but from the standpoint of the series itself, it feels like a very smart move. After all, this further ensures that the characters are going to continue to have important scenes featuring so many members of their ensemble. The last thing that they would want is to underutilize someone like Diane or Kalinda, who has already been used a little less than we would like for most of the past season or so.

This is another chance to reinvent the show, and really, this is one of the reasons why “The Good Wife” has hung around so well over the years in the first place.
