‘Chicago PD’ season 2 spoilers: What’s next for Halstead and Lindsay?
Is there a possible future for Halstead and Lindsay on “Chicago PD”? While the answer to that is “yes,” it is probably not something that we are going to see anytime soon following the show’s season 2 premiere Wednesday night.
The biggest reason for the two not being together, at least for now, is the presence of Severide. Beyond that, though, there may be another person complicated their future in Voight. As executive producer Matt Olmstead told TVLine in a new interview, his mandate against romance in the workplace may cause things to be rather difficult:
“[He] warned them — Halstead in particular — that he doesn’t like in-house romances … Then they saw the real-world ramification of that when Burgess and Atwater were both vying for Intelligence, and he dinged Burgess because he knew that there was that whole thing going on with Ruzek … [They will need to lay off any romance if] they want to be in this unit [and] ascend.”
The second-season premiere of “Chicago PD” Wednesday is going to be coming into it with a variety of challenges, but we imagine for now that the biggest one may just be having to follow up the premiere of “Chicago Fire” tonight. This show is going to be losing a major character, and it will be extremely hard for the spin-off to replicate that level of extreme shock on any level.
Nonetheless, we are going to have more scoop on “Chicago PD” every step of the way, including a preview for what lies ahead tomorrow. Stay tuned.

Nope the biggest reason they are not together is Voight not Severide. It’s always been Voight. Voight needs to get over it and Severide needs to go
