‘The Blacklist’ season 2 premiere spoilers: James Spader, Megan Boone look ahead, talk characters

The Blacklist logo any seasonOn Monday night, “The Blacklist” is back in action, and we have a pair of videos below to get you that much more excited!

In the clips below, you can see both Megan Boone (Elizabeth Keen) and James Spader (Raymond Reddington) speak out a little about the structure of the show, and what they are looking forward to seeing on the upcoming episodes. Both actors of course have their own preferences, and also have their own deep affection for their individual characters. Could you really expect anything less?

Perhaps the biggest scoop that comes out of this comes via Boone, who explains how Paul Reubens and Mary-Louise Parker’s characters differ from the typical “Blacklist” guest star, at least in that each one of them will be staying put for more than an episode. We’ll get to learn more about them, and possibly how they tie into our current Big Bad of Berlin. Much of what we have seen to date has revolved around flushing him out, and Boone says that many of the Blacklisters coming up in the near future are tied back to this character.

Meanwhile, Spader talks a little about the mechanics of his character, and the conversations that he has continually with the writers about some of Reddington’s struggles. He is a man who you want to know more and more about over time, but the real twist here is that you never want to know too much. If that happens, then the man starts to lose a little bit of that mystique that he otherwise has lurking through some of the shadows.
