‘Outlander’ episode 8 spoilers: Sam Heughan on Jamie, Claire, and midseason finale

Over the first seven episodes of “Outlander,” actor Sam Heughan has certainly been asked to film some pretty difficult scenes. However, none were as revealing as some of what he shot with Claire during “The Wedding,” which was certainly one of the more explicit things that we have seen on television over the past several years.

By the end of it, it was pretty clear that Claire was feeling complicated and conflicting things towards both Jamie and also Frank all the way back in the 1940s, but the struggle here is figuring out how she moves forward with one in the past, given where it could take her in the future.

While Heughan cannot answer everything right now (our suggestion is to just pick up a book of you want direct spoilers), he did tell The Hollywood Reporter a little about where the story is going moving into next week’s finale “Both Sides Now”:

“We see Claire begin to fall in love with Jamie and by the time they go back to Lallybroch, she’s certainly leaving the will to return to the stones to go back to Frank. There are all these other issues of having children as well. Jamie would love to have children and it’s later on that Claire reveals that she can’t, which is a big blow for Jamie. That’s the start of another journey for them really.”

While there are many important scenes that are coming between Jamie and Claire, Sam in particular singles out some that he filmed for the upcoming tenth episode … which is unfortunately not going to air until at some point early next year. Let’s hope that you are the patient type if you love this show.
