‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6: See Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, Nina Dobrev in cast photos

While the premiere of “The Vampire Diaries” may not be on the air until October 2, we are here today with what is yet another time-honored tradition for the show: The official cast photos!

In looking at these images, it is pretty easy to have a divided opinion on them. Almost all of the images are extremely well-done, and there is therefore no reason to worry about the quality here. The only downside is that they are all pretty plain. There’s no cool background, and no twist other than that some characters like Elena (Nina Dobrev) may have been standing in front of a wind tunnel at the time that their images were snapped.

This is also a pretty large collection of promotional photos that were snapped, at least in comparison to what we had last year. Some of the new additions this year including Michael Malarkey as Enzo, and then the return of Matt Davis as Alaric after two seasons of making little cameos here and there. We love the guy, but we hope that the story is worth undoing what was arguably a top 5 moment for the show in the way that he died at the end of season 3.

Take a look below at the rest of the images, which show off a little bit of fashion for some of the ladies. As for the guys, it is more of a showcase of how many dark tones the characters have in their wardrobes. (It’s a lot!)
