‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 spoilers: Elizabeth Mitchell is definitely a villain

Once Upon a Time -For just about all of you out there wondering whether or not we were going to see Elizabeth Mitchell someone potentially benevolent on “Once Upon a Time,” we have some confirmation for you now: Don’t count on it. The showrunners are finally revealing that she will be the villain of the first half of the season, and someone Anna, Elsa, and possibly others have to fear based on what timeline she is a part of.

It was co-creator Adam Horowitz who first confirmed this news in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, as he also went onto to explain why he, after working with Mitchell for so many years on “Lost,” was happy to see her taking on this sort of different part:

“For the first time, we’re showing a villainous side to Elizabeth Mitchell … There’s a dark side that Elizabeth is accessing and she’s doing so in chilling fashion.”

There are still many rumors out there about just who Mitchell will be playing, whether it be Elsa and Anna’s secret mother or the Snow Queen, whose story somewhat inspired “Frozen” in the first place. Given that there is an upcoming “Once Upon a Time” episode entitled “The Snow Queen,” we are much more inclined to say the latter. Plus, this would be an interesting opportunity for Elsa to do battle against someone who understands her powers and then some. After all, we would presume that this Queen would have been in the game of freezing stuff over for a whole lot longer.

We’re thrilled to see where this story goes, and are more than pleased that the premiere on Sunday, September 28 is not that far away anymore.
