‘Chicago Fire’ season 3, episode 1 preview: First look at the drama in premiere

One week from tonight, “Chicago Fire” season 3 is going to debut from NBC, and surprisingly, the network is actually revealing some footage from the episode in advance.

From a promotional standpoint, we understand why. This is a show that NBC wants big ratings for, and sometimes, you need that extra push to make it happen. Maybe releasing some clips early will help from that vantage point.

The reason that we are surprised comes mostly from the standpoint of the show having such a huge shocker that they are preparing to drop in who is going to die in this episode. We imagine that the less the show gives away on this subject, the better off they are going to be when the episode airs. Why reveal anything? You want there to be a reason for people to watch!

With that being said, it is not exactly like this clip reveals a whole lot. Most of the characters in it are ones you probably assumed already would be surviving. It is probably the best of both worlds from that vantage point; it does not do anything to ruin the story, and it still does a very ample job promoting the show. We’ll just have to see what comes up from here, but don’t worry: We are going to have “Chicago Fire” covered as much as humanly possible moving forward to the big premiere. We’ll also be around after the premiere to discuss more of what happened.
