‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 spoilers: Troubles ahead for Emma, Hook

Going into “Once Upon a Time” season 4, it definitely feels as though the hot couple at the moment is Hook and Emma … or Captain Swan, if you will. They got together and ended the “will they or won’t they?” phase near the end of season 3, but just because that happened does not mean in the slightest that they are going to have a perfectly happy relationship.

What are their stumbling blocks moving forward? We can imagine that they include everything from complicated histories to the fact that they both have a natural tendency to not trust others due to their past. This is something that executive producer Adam Horowitz commented on further in an interview with TV Guide, where he had the following to say about their future:

“It’s going to be tricky for the two of them … Just because we saw their feelings reach a new level at the end of last season doesn’t mean that that’s the end of the story.”

 

What we really want to see right now is a story that forces Emma and Hook to be in a situation similar to what any other couple would be dealing with, such as one of them trying to plan a romantic date for the other, or them settling in to a life where they don’t have a million things to do. Can you imagine Hook working an ordinary job? Instant comedy.

We don’t imagine this particular idea is going to fruition anytime soon, though; due to the arrival of Elsa in Storybrooke, all other activity may be frozen (get it?) over for a while.
