‘NCIS’ season 12 spoilers: First look at Mark Harmon in ‘Kill the Messenger’

NCIS -The promotional photos are in for the second episode of “NCIS” season 12 entitled “Kill the Messenger,” and they are, for the most part, a whole lot of nothing. It is not the CBS way most of the time to spoil events with photos, but these appear to be even less revealing than the ones that they traditionally share.

The only thing that you can really take away of note from this image of Gibbs (Mark Harmon) is this: We’ll be getting a little bit closer to Presidential politics than usual. The mystery here revolves around the death of a prominent Navy officer who was on his way to see the President at the time of his death, and with that come questions. Was this a part of a string of recent muggings, an isolated incident, or were the muggings all orchestrated in this way on purpose? This is something that we do hope to have an answer for in the near future.

Given that this is only the second episode of the season, we do think that this is probably just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what the writers have planned. With that being said, there are probably still many other standalone stories like this one to come, which we assume are not going to play too big of a role in the larger story.

One other thing about this episode: It will feature an appearance from former NFL star Tony Gonzalez, but we do not expect this to have any significant part to play in the overall arc.
